Today is my 23rd birthday, and I have to say it has been an exhausting ride getting here. Starting this blog was something I did to stay sane during a time of unbelievable boredom and I never thought anyone would read it.
So, I am writing this blog for you, the person reading it; thank you so much for coming here and seeing what I have to say. And I want to give a big thank you to those of you who have made a habit of coming back, or even leaving comments; it's reassuring to know that after all this time people still care
So, as anyone who has read this blog before would know, I love to write. I also love music. The perfect career for me would be, logically, a music journalist. I am currently 1 of 40 people selected out of hundreds all over Australia to be an optus sound scribe. 'What does this mean?' you may ask, which is a good question.
As an optus sound scribe I will report on the local music scene in my town and write a blog about it which is on the optus website. I have the chance to win a trip to LA and an internship at a music magazine; this would be a great way to begin my career
I saw inception last night, and just as I was hoping, it was amazing. It seems like Leonardo DiCaprio can do no wrong, his choice of films over the past decade have been infallible. I'm not going to write anything to give away the plot (even though it would take some time to actually explain the whole thing), but I will say it is an intelligent, well crafted and visually inspired film.
Looking across the aisle of the theatre I couldn't help but laugh at the rows of confused faces who weren't able to keep up with the film's action; one guy's face was etched with agony, like his head could explode at any minute. I have to give a kudos to everyone in the film, they were all fantastic. I especially liked Joseph Gordon-Levitt in this role, it was a nice change from an angsty coming of age role. I left the film feeling, for lack of a better word, happy; I love going in with high expectations and not having them shattered
