Inception and the town
I saw inception last night, and just as I was hoping, it was amazing. It seems like Leonardo DiCaprio can do no wrong, his choice of films over the past decade have been infallible. I'm not going to write anything to give away the plot (even though it would take some time to actually explain the whole thing), but I will say it is an intelligent, well crafted and visually inspired film.
Looking across the aisle of the theatre I couldn't help but laugh at the rows of confused faces who weren't able to keep up with the film's action; one guy's face was etched with agony, like his head could explode at any minute. I have to give a kudos to everyone in the film, they were all fantastic. I especially liked Joseph Gordon-Levitt in this role, it was a nice change from an angsty coming of age role. I left the film feeling, for lack of a better word, happy; I love going in with high expectations and not having them shattered.
I have to admit I'm a little excited to see a film called 'the town', directed by Ben Affleck. I saw another film directed by Affleck called 'Gone Baby Gone' and it was brilliant; in spite of all of his bad film choices, he is a terrific director. Anyway, the fact that it has Jon Hamm, Jeremy Renner and Pete Postlethwaite (also in inception), makes me even more excited for its release here in Australia. Watch this blog for a review
